Deliverables and Outcomes

In short, I have three desired outcomes:

• Set the record for fastest female to cycle the Pan-American Highway (solo and self-supported).

• Heavily document the ride (video, audio, photos, blog).

• Create segments of the Pan-American route which use alternative road(s) in lieu of highway. These will eventually be used to create visually appealing maps, incorporating the route(s), photos, video, and write-ups.

There are many highways that cross each country, and an obvious fast route through each. While my goal is to ride the route as fast as possible, my route planning will involve finding a somewhat better alternative/parallel roads to the highways in an effort to make this route more approachable and safe for those who’d like to ride the whole thing, or parts of it in the future. Curating routes is one of my favourite parts of any long distance ride because you can incorporate smaller roads and explore areas usually only possible if going by bike.

Of course, the ultimate goal will be to keep moving day after day, and solving problems as they arise.
